Salvage Title
The following information is provided by one of our advertisers who is a non-profit agency receiving donated vehicles.

About 1.5% of all cars donated has a salvage title. That means that at one time in its life it was in a wreck or something else happened and the insurance company decided to pay the owner the book value instead of fixing the car. The insurance company then owns the car.

Often, the owner believes it is worth far more and decides to have the car fixed anyway and pays the insurance company to buy the car back from them. Then, it belongs to the owner again but with a "salvage" title.

It could be the sign of a car unwisely brought back from the brink, after a fire or flood or horrible accident, or it could just be an older car whose value didn't justify fixing it up in the eyes of the insurance company.

Please contact us if you have a question regarding a specific vehicle in our inventory.
